This video will demonstrate how to use the Ending Bracket Assistant in Lime.
The ending bracket dialog allows you to add properly formatted first and second endings to your Lime score.
For this video, I am modifying Pachelbel's Cannon.
I want to add a first ending that goes back to the start after completing one time through the main theme.
The second ending is a little different than the first ending and after the second ending it will continue on as usual.
The first ending is comprised of measures 7 and 8 and the second ending starts at measure 9.
The first step is to add the backward repeat bar line if it doesn't already exist.
The Ending Bracket Assistant will not do its job if there isn't a backward repeat bar line in an appropriate place.
I'll click on the note right after the bar line that I want to change which is in measure 9 and then open the Bar
Line dialog (CONTROL+B) where
I'll select the correct type of bar line and make sure 'Before current chord is selected' and then I'll click on OK.
Next, I'll add the first ending by clicking on the first note of the first ending, which is in measure 7, then I'll
open the Ending Bracket Assistant (ALT+A, B, E).
[1st Ending] should already be selected since Lime can tell it's appropriate by the existence of the repeat bar line.
Set Barline Hear Option should also be checked since it lets Lime know how to playback the music as dictated by the
ending brackets.
Then I'll click on OK.
Finally, I'll add the second ending by clicking on the first note of the second ending,
which is in measure 9, opening the Ending Bracket Assistant (ALT+A, B, E), [2nd Ending] should be
selected already, and then clicking on OK.
Let's listen to it (CONTROL+H), I sped it up a little to save time.
I hope this is helpful. Let me know if anything is not clear.
